Pursuant of the provisions of the charter of the Town of East Spencer, and the laws of the J State of North Carolina, and a | resolution adopted by the P>oard ;of Aldermen of the Town of jEast Spencer on the 1st day of I March, 1937. NOTICE IS (HEREBY GIVEN: j 1. That the general municipal primary election for the nomina tion of ten candidates for Mayor aad Board of Aldermen to be vo Jted for at the general municipal election of the Town of JEast Spencer will be held on (APRIL 24, 1937, provided there I are more than ten candidates, and in case said primary election is held, the polls will be open from sunrise until sunset. 1 2. that the general municipal ' election for the Mayor and Board ■of Aldermen for the Town of (East Spencer will be held on | MAY 4, 1937, for the purpose 'of electing a Mayor and four (Aldermen, and the polls will 'open on said date for said elec tion from sunrise until sunset. ■ 3. The Registrar will open the registration books on I MARCH 20th, 1937, and keep I said registration books open be tween the hours of 9:00 A. M. 'and sunset on each day (Sunday ■ excepted), until sunset on [APRIL 10th 1937. On each i Saturday during the period ot registration, the Registrar shall attend with his registration " books at the polling place, to v.it: The Town Hall of the Town of East Spencer, for the regis tration of voters, keeping said books open from 9:00 A. M. to 6:00 P. M. on said Saturdays. 4. That all persons who are qualified to vote at the general municipal election of MAY 4th, 1937, shall be qualified to vote ! at the primary election on APRIL 24. 1937, subject to 'challenge as provided by law. April 17th, 1937, has been de signated as challange day. All j hallenges may be held and j tenrd at this time. 5. That for the purpose of holding said primary and gen eral municipal elections, the polling place shall be the Town Hall. I 6. That the Registrar and Judges for the purpose of hold-1 ing said primary and general municipal elections, have been elected by the Board of Aider men, and are as follows: REGISTRAR: S. B. That all candidates are re quired to file their applications with the clerk of the Board by' midnight of April 21st, 1937, in order that their names may be printed on the tickets, all acco-i ] -ding to few. 1 8. That no person shall be al ■ owed to vote, either in said pri mary or in the general municipal election, whose name does not ap pear on the registration books; and no person shall be permitted to register after the closing of the registration books, unless he has become qualified to register and vote between the date of closing the registration books and the date of the election, ac cording to law. 9.
