All kinds of groceries, provisions and ship stores, bought and will be sold low for cash, corner of Water and Priucess streets, Wilmington, N. PUOSPECTIS OF THE DAILY JOl'RXAL.. Tut Subeeriber this day cotutaenc the public tioa ia the Uwa of Wilmington, of a daily evening paper by the above title. It will be issued every day (Sunday excepted) after the arrival of the mailt, to a to give the very latest intt'li grnc fn.ua all quarter?. The publisher will also avail thselre of every additioual facility within their reach for theeolWt ioa of new. Particular atteetioa will Ve paid to the Commercial depart ment f the paper, and full and accurate report givea of the ttate of our own markets, a well a of all other having any influence uj-on the trade of this place or section. The growing Ioiortance of Wilmington, and th increas ing want of the mercantile community at large, have teemed to call for and warrant the commencement of this enterprise. North. Carolina is almost, if not quite, the only State ia the Union in which no daily paper ii published. California, which but yesterday was a wilderness, ha a flourishing daily press, while North Carolina ha not one within her border. Such .bould not be the case. We believe that we can fairly ja) to the State pride, as well a to the iaterest of our fellow-citizens, to suetain us in our present effort to remove this reproach. It is acarccly necessary to refer to the politic of "The Dai ly Joi vl," a it will be under the same editorial manage ment with the Weekly " Wilmington Joi iinal, " whit h pa per will continue to be published on the same term as for merly, deriving, it i to be hoied, additional interest from the use of the more extended facilities which the publication of a daily must render necessary. In politic it will supjiort the doctrine of the Democratic party ; yet, while firm anl decided in the assertion and maintenance of itsown opinions, will be moderate and respectful toward those who may differ from it. Ter.vv The price of " The Daily Joi'Rnal " will be six dollars per annum, invariably in adctinrt. The heavy out lay attendant upon the publication of such a pnper will ren der a strict adherence to this rule tmvrativt. A tri-weekly paer will also be Issued at four (ft liars per annum, should a sufficient number of tri-weekly subscribers be obtained. The ' Daily Joi rnal" is now before the public. TheU mr mi outlay wlik h its issue entails is very considerable, nnd will requite a generous support to save us from heavy loss In starting it, we have relied upon thut liberality which has heretofore been extended to us, and have launched our baik, determined that it shall sink or swim upon itsown merits. FULTON k PRICE. Wilmington, N C, September 8, ti Our eoteinporaries with whom wo exchange, will con fer a favor by giving the above a few Insertion. Carolina. October 6. IWtT ? TO IlEXT.
