PROSPECTIS OK THE DAILY JOURNAL. The Subscribers this day commence the publication in the towa of Wilmington, of a daily evening paper by the above title." It will be issued CTery day (Sundays excepted) after the arrival of the mails, sa as to give the very latett intelli gence from all quarters. The publishers will ahw avail them.elre of every additional facility within tbeir reach for the collection of news. ) ' Particular attention will be paid to the Commercial depart ment of the paper, and full and accurate reports given of the state of our own markets, as well as of all other having any influence npon the trade of this place or section. The growing importance of Wilmington, and the increas ing wants of the mercantile community at lare, have seemed to rail for and warrant the commencement of this enterprise. North Caroliua is almoM, if not quite, the only State in the Union in which no daily paper is published. California, wblch but yesterday was a wilderness, has a flourishing daily press, while North Carolina has not one within her borders. Such should not be the case. We believe that we can fairly appeal to the State pride, as well as to the interest of our ftllow-citiiens, to sustain us ia our present effort to remove this reproach. It is scarcely necessary to refer to the politics of "The Dai ly Joi'BvtL, " as it will be under the same editorial manage ment withthe Weekly " Wilmimitos Joi knal, " which pa per will continue to be published on the same terms as for merly, deriving, it is to be hoped, additional interest from the use of the more ettenJcd facilities which the publication of a daily must render necessary. Iu olitics it will supjxirt the doctrines of the Democratic party ; yet, while firm and decided in the assertion and alintcnance of its own opinions, will be moderate and respectful towards those who may differ from it. Termh. The price of " The Pailt Joi-rxal " will be six dollars per annum, inranViWjr in advance. The heavy out lay attendant upou the publication of such a paper will ren der a strict adherence to this rule imjtratitt. A tri-weckly paper will alo be issued at four dollars per annum, should a sufficient number of tri-weckly subscribers be obtained. Tho " Daily Joi rnal " is now before th public. The la bor and outlay which its issue entails is very considerable, and will requite a generous suppnrt-to-sa re bs from -heavy ions In starting it, we have relied upon that liberality which has heretofore been extended to us, and have launched our bark, determined that it shall sink or swim upon ita own merits. FULTON k PRICE. Wilmington, N. C, September 8, 1851. t f Our cotemporarics with wh'om wc exchange, will con fer a favor by giving the above a few insertions. " 1I EDTCAlT N OTH ' DRS. FREEMAN & MALLETT having associated them selves In tho HOMEOPATHIC Practice of Medicine and Surgery, offer their Professional services to the commu nity. Ono or tho other of them may be found at all times at their office, when not professionally called off." Calls in the country will receive- prompt attention at all times. Oct. 22, 1851 A CARD. DR. MALLETT, in offering his professional services to the citizens of Wilmington, would state that ho has been engaged in the practice of Medicine and Surgery for five years, and for the last year has given his attention to Ho mooopathy, to which practice he will confine himself moat strictly in all its branches. N. B. From his experience in Surgery, he feels confident that he can give satisfaction in the performance of all Surgi cal Operations even the most delicate.
