Tho health of the young Prince Imperial, son of Louis Napoleon, who is now eleven years old, is said to be delicate. It is a singular fact that not for one hundred and sixty years has any monarch in France been succeeded on the throne by his son. Thus, Louis XIV was the grand-son of Louis XIII ; Louis XV was the grand-son of Louis XIV J Louis XIV was the grand son of Louis XV ; Louis XVIII was the brother of Louis XVI, Louis XVII dying in chidhood, and never came to the throne. The successor of Louis XVIII was his broth er, Charles X. His successor was his cousin, Louis Thillippo. Napoleon I was succeed Cel, not by his son, Napoleon IT, but by his nephew. Napoleon III. The heir of Louis Thillipe, the Duke or Orleans, was killod by being thrown out of his earrings. Tlio heir and son of Charles X, the Duke of Eerri, was assassinated while assisting his wife into a carnage at the Paris Opera House. Tho present heir to tho Bourbons is tho Count tlo Bordeaux, who was born after tho assassination of hi3 laiuci, luo Duko do Bern, lliero na3 thus been a strango fatality v.ith heirs to tho French throne, and if tho little Prince Imperial succeeds his father, he will have a rare picco of good fortune. The Short Ores. ;- ' Tho New York Times says that tho intro duction of the thort dress is attended with considerablo embarrassment.
