" i Mr. Moore, of Carteret, from the com mittee on Corporations, reported favorably - on the following bills, via : t"- Rill to incorporate the New Hanover Ag rionltaral Society. Bill to incorporate the Locksvilla Manu facturing Company. ' Bill authorizing the Governor to appoint a Mayor and five Commissioners for the town of Hendersonville. Mr. Smith, from the committee on Fro- br on a resolution instructing the com ' mittee on Pnblio Buildings to provide suit- able rooms for the use of the Superinten dent of Publio Works, Auditor and State Geologist. The rules were suspended and the reso - lution was adopted. Mr. Smith introduced a bill to re-arrange the publio offices in the Capitol. This bill proposes to place the Auditor in the room adjoining the Treasurer. The bill was rejected. . Mr. Wynne arose to a privileged ques tion and said, Mr. President : I am pained to have to state to the Senate that the Auditor of the State of North Carolina is giving the Auditor the north now under arrest. After some further debate Mr. Estes motion was put to a vote and oarried. Mr. Laflin presented the credentials of Mr. Hilliard, the member from Pitt county, and moved that he be allowed to oome forward, be sworn in aud take his seat. Mr. Estes announced that the Auditor of tho State had been arrested on the warrant of the Chief Justioe, - for not vacating the room claimed by the Supreme Court, and was now on his way to jail, lie moved that the Committee on Propositions and Grievances retire and report measures for tne relief of tnat gentleman.
