Mr. Cleveland, at the last election, received "about orre hundred thousand more yotes than did . Mr. Har rison, yet the latter was elect ed. The people will demand, we believe, that the highest of fice in the land shall be filled by the man preferred by the majority and not the minority, as is at present the case. "Marriage a failure ? The unpopularity of Mr. Bryan can not be more forcibly told than the recent change of front of the Argus, which says, and it reflects public eentimect along the line of the road: "To such a pass has it come that Mr. Washington Bryan, President of Atlantic and North Carolina Railroid, has to send out his Superintendent.
