'The Bishop announced that he wished to go out into the deepest part of the current and would take up the question 20, viz: Are all the preachers blameless in their life and offi cial administration? Bishop Keener congratulated the conference upon the great number of conversions reported and he thought this a mighty good sign and was glad to note it. . On motion of Dr. Black. J B Bobbitt was referred to the committee on conference re lations for supernumerary relav tion. On motion of Dr Burton a committee of ten was appointed to consider the expediency of observing with religious servi ces the 2nd day of March 1891, the day of the anniversary of the death of John Wesley, the eminent founder of Methodism. E D Hathaway was elected elder, McG Davenport deaoons and G D Langston. and R H Whitaker, local 'preachers, el ders. Greenville and Goldsboro were placed in nomination as the place to hold the next con ference and Greenville was se lected by a vote ot 76 to 26. K W Townsend was received by transfer from the Western North Carolina Conference. T H Law, agent of the Amer ican Bible Society, presented a report aud addressed confer ence. He fta ted that- during the past year the; Lad sent out 2,190,000 bibles. They had tried to pn!. a bible into every home. Now they proposed to go further and put a copy of the whole bible into tin bauds of every child that can read. Bishop Keener heartily favored the uudoitaking. The report of the committee on Bible cause com mended the Societj, and its great work, and urged: pastors and Suneay Sdhool superin tendents to co-operate with it and tvke collections for its aid. So far, he said, the M E Church South had not taken a pillar and lie hoped some brother would give him that amount.
