There are a number of questions of importance that should be brought up before the board ; every member is earnestly requested to be present and all citizens are likewise invited to attend. The first Uork to be none will be the building of a dike on the Neuse river. New W. U. Wires. The W. U. Telegraph Company are putting a new line of 40 ft. poles. They have tapped their lines near the cotton factory and brought the new loop up South street to Golds boro along Goldsboro to Nash and to the office. The new wires are of hard drawn copper and present the appearance of strands of burnished gold. The new lines are a great im provement over the old loop, along Goldsboro street, which on account of the trees were strung very close to ground and were constantly in dan ger of being crossed as well as inter fering with all moving objects higher than -fifteen feet.'
