A Smilhfield special lo the News and Obierver, dated January 21l, gives the following particulars of a wedding at that place which will be interesting to the Weldoo frieuds of the young people, Mr. Harrison having formerly lived here: The residence of Mr. and Mrs. J. D, Spiers, was the scene of a pretty home wedding this evening, the contracting parlies being Mr. Thomas W Harrison, of this place, and Miss Annie P. Puckett, t sister of Mrs. Spiers. The house was elaborately adorned, the front parlor being decorated in green and white, the back parlor io green and red and the dining room in greeo and pink. Promptly at eight o'clock the guests having assembled io the front pat It r, Mrs. James A. Spiers sang, io a lovely and pathetic voice, "Oh Promise Me," and as the last words of the beautiful song died away, Mrs. C. V. Johnson be gan to play Mendelssohn's grand old wedding march. Immediately io advance of the bride came the maid of boDor, Miss Mattie Pou. She was exquisitely gowned io while organdie, and carried pink carnations. Then came the bride leaning on the arm of the groom. Her costume was of white French organdie, which was exceedingly becoming to her dainty type of beauty. She wore a veil of white illusitn and carried a bouquet of white hyacioths Advancing to the temporary altar of evergreen, they were met by Rev. W. H. Puckett, a brother of the bride, who pro- ntuoccd tho words, which bouud their young lives together for all time. After the oeremony, elegant refresh ments were served, and at 10:30 o'clook Mr. aod Mrs. Harrison left on the Coast Line train for t tour of the Northern cities. The popularity of the young couple was attested by maoy beautiful presents, consisting of silverware, cut glass, a.-liiua tod other useful and handsome articles.
