King happy bells of taster time ! The world takes up your chant sublime: "The Lord has risen!" 'I tie night o' tear Has passed away, uud heaven draws near; U'e breathe the air of that blest chine At Easter time. Once apain comes the message of Easter, and on next Sunday, Aoril 23, in song and sermon the st ry of the Resurrection will he r.. claimed tlir.iuglMut the w.irK. Once again comes the glad sea son when men look up and caic'i a vision of a risen Christ. He is risen, indeed, and we know whom we have believed and thai iln Christians' trust and faith in a cru cified Saviour is not in vain. The choirs sing about it. Preach ers proclaim it. The multitudes believe it. Doesitseem strange that because a small group of sad-eyed, discouraged men and women, al most two thousand years ago, sud denly came to believe that a man they had loved had returned to life after He had been placed in the tomb, people should still believe it today? Nineteen centuries is a long time, and Palestine is far away, yet we continue to tell the resurrection story, and proclaim Him the King of Glory. As you catch the spirit of Easter tide, and remember thai it was Jesus who "brought life and im mortality to light," joy surges in your heart.day breakeih and the shadows flee away, for He ever stands at the right hand of the Faiher to make intercession for us. The resurrection of Jesus means a victory over death and the grave, for upon this historic fact of the risen Saviour is based the w hole of Chrisiianity and immortality beyond the grave. For if there was no resurrection then, indeed, is our faith in vain and there is no hope. So the message of life comes to cheer us on in our Christian race and as the people assemble in their respective places of worship next Sunday to jive expression to the story of the cross in anthem and sermon, it should give emphasis to the Christian faith and a blessed assurance that there is a life be yond. May we each htkI hI lay hold.by faith, on the blessed prom ises and with child-like faith look up to Calvary's hill and say "we know that our Redeemer lives for He is risen, as He said."
