The Raleigh Sentinel says it has been suggested, that in view of tho fact that the people, of JNorth JJCarolian have so recently and so emphatically said that, 4n their opinion, the number -of Judges of the Superior Guirt should be reduced to nine, it would be as well for Gov. This suggestion, says tho Sentinel; rather commends itself tp us. If nine Judges caiido the work, of the Courts in le70 it seems that eleven ought to do it in 187T Murder In Cold Blood. Our town - was shocked with the sad intelligence received, early Saturday morn ing, that Mr. Jetf E, Dunn,a most worthy young man, of Sandy Ridge to Wnshin, "was foully murdered in his own lot on the evening before. We leari that he had gone out to his barn about dusk to feed his stock, ami after entering the. lot dis covered au object which proved to be a man, After two or three efforts to find out who tlic intruder was, Mr. Dunn was told that ho was lost (still giving no name,) and asked directions to a neighbor's j:ouse. Mr. Dunn then began giving the asked for information, when he was fired on and shot down. - lie lived for about two hours, and made a statement as above. Not being near enPugh to tell in the dim moon light, ho could qot say who. the assassin was. Mr. Dunn bore the reputation of being a tine youn;: man, was highly respected by all who knew him, and his untimely death will cast a gloom of sorrow and regret over his many friends. Being very quiet and peaceably disposed, it was uot supposed that he had an enemy in the world. He leaves a young wife and child to mourn their sad bereavement.
