Correction. . i
In referring to Dr. Wood's lecture yes
terday we inadvertently stated that it had
been delivered before' the Southern His
toripal Society when we should have said
the Historical and Scientific Socie y of Wil
mington. .Our mistake was a natural one,
as we had in our mind's ye at the time
the preservation of the. records of North
Carolina -soldiers during our late onpleas
antnes'?, and was thinking more upon Dr.
Wood's history in prospective, than of any
thing that be had done in the past.

Cutting a Funeral Procession In Two-.
We are requested to call the attention of
the management of 'the street railwayj to
the fact that as a colored funeral procession
was on its way yesterday tol Pine I Forest
Cemetry, and whiie crossing the street car
track, a' car coming up was driven through
th6 procession, cutting it asunder, and
nearly crushing a'person who was in the
procession. J We presAmc it,is only nedes
sary to mention this fact to assure such
measures by the mauagement as will pre
vent a recurrence in the future, especially
as we know that stiict Orders are given that
i i . . - i
kx such iiistances the car must ahvavsj wait
until the procession has passed. 1
