The Dizzies" in Trouble.
Atalespatch from Cincinnati says, that
the troupe of female minstrels playing at
Wood's Theatre, in that city, for the past
week, have all been arrested and held in
$25 bail for g:ving lewd and obscene pub
lic amusement. The manager of the
troupe, which 'is known-as 'the "Eizzy,
Blondes," was notified that the Can-can
exhibition on the programme must be
toned down or the whole troupe would b3
arrested. This was done, but not enough
to - satisfy the jauthoritiesi On Toiesday
night, during the performance, a quad
of police appeared upon the stago and ar
rested, the manager and all the pertorm-
ers. me troupe is suu appeuriug,
the Can-can portion of the entertainment
i3 now omitted.
White Dresses the Rage.
Scarcely anything will be more popu
rat than white evening dresses during tTie
present season. They are to be trimmed
with bunches of drooping flowers and truie
formins fringes. Eidi fruit will be ac-
companied by the flowers or blossoms of
its tree before it became Jfrrut. The idea
is pretty, but the reality is uglj. These
garlands or oranges, pears, apples, cur
rants, strawberries,' etc., are much too
heavy, for gauzo and tulle dresses. For
demi-toilets high polonaisev, or coats of
white muslin, are worn over white silk
dresses." This iolonaise, or coat rausi.
not be as long as the undei -dress. The
under corsage is cut lovneckd, the coat
is high at the back and open in front to
the waist like any ordinary coat, tight
sleeves to the elbow, where a bouquet of
flowers' now invarible accompanies an el
bow sleve for evening wear. Other
white dresses are of silk, sating poplin,
and Indian cashmere. .White Indian cash
mere costumes are ideal in beauty, rich
ness A and elegant simplicity. With such
a dress, well made, one may go into any
society. It is equally adapted to low
or highnecked dresses, and may be worn
with full blouse or a tight fourreau. it
requires no trimming, though it does not
. w
refuse triaiming. Oriental trimmings are
