After sauntering through the crowd under the noble old oaks that adorn the Court House square at. Just before the adjournment i of the con vention Capt. Richardson was called upon for a speech, aud responded in a shorf talk, thanking the convention for the honor that they had conferred upon him. Capt. JJs speech, though short, jvas very good, and delivered in a very happy style. We congratulate the citizens of Columbus upon their choice. But our time and space are exhausted, and we will have to close, remarking, cn passant, that the day was a pleasant one; pleasant because we met so many of our old individual friends, and pleasant again because we met with so many warm patrona of the Daily Re view, and Wilmington Journal.
