A letter was re ceived from Superintendent Walling, of the New York police, yesterday, stating that the likeness was that of "J inline DeMar,"a notorious confidence man aod hotel thief of the city. Thre being bo specific charge against "Jimmy" he was sent out of town last night on the North eastern Railroad train, being booked for Wilmington. He is a1 deoidcly impudent scamp and qu4te a dangerous criminal, lie is probably 50 years eld. with gray whiskers, is inclined to be portly, and somewhat resembles the late 4,Bossn Tweed. Last night, between the hours of 7 and 8 o'clock, two little colored gir's went into the store ef Miss Lou Stuart, ou Market, between Second aud Third streets, ana while one of them called the atten tion of the attendant on pretense of mak ing some 'purchases, the other busied her se'f in taking such articles as she could lay her hands on aqd hiding them be aeath her shawl and under her clothing. A gentleman passing by happened to cast his eye into the window and saw the acts of the young pilferer. The members assembled at their Hah. on the corner of Fourth and Princess streets, at an early hour last evening, to welcome their guest?, who represented nearly every department of the govern ment, Federal Stta and municipal, U. sides ail the trade organizations of the city. Upon entering the Hall, a large banner with "A Fireman's Welcome to All," em blazoned in Iargp, bold fetters upon i fi.s? struck the visitors' eyes, and near it wa another banner, with the following : "Our Boys, LUile Giant, A. . driaa, Ho k n Ladder; In unify there is srren?h.' Between thebauners were thepho ogiahs of the members of the (Jompany and above a hat or cape of each v of the ihree Comp -nies namedon the banner. Th had was tasteful' decorate 1 w th flowers: garlands and festoons,, and iu Lie general decora i n s, the dead were not fo gotten by the living, for the pictures of the deceased ineUibeis were dressed ith gar lands of laurel and cedar. The tables, which fairly groanesd under the weight of the delicacies of the season, were ninetyfeet in length and werearranged along tho north, east and south sides of the Urge HaU. Never was a supper more haadsomely served or better prepared, and the ladies who so kindly relieved the committee or this work, would do credit to the caterer of Epicures. The Cornet Concert Club discoursed some of its fine music, and the guests Were seated around the festive board by the mem.lera of the Company, who waited on them in royal good style. By inyltation, Capt. John Cowau pre" sided over the fe-tivities and on behalf of the Company welcomed the guests in a chaste, terse and pleasing manner, and referred with much feeling to those who have gone te their eternal homes, since the organization of the Company.
