Review and the Baleigh iZhptk;A The were the first papers in the State to pub lish the fact than an extra session of the Legislature would be convened on the 16th of March next. This information was given in Saturday's Review by a special telegram from Raleigh. The pro prietor of Halt's Weekly with commend able enterprise, sent out an extra on Sat urday containing the Governor's proclam ation, 'calling the Legislature together. Parade of the Colored Draymen- The colored drayman of this city, in commemoration of the anniversary of Washington's birthday, generally sue pended labor to day and this i fternoon they, to the number of about fifty, paraded the streets preceded by a band of music and mounted on horseback. We here make our acknowledgements for the salute courteously paid by them to the Review office. We learn from one of . their nam- bar, that they will meet at the City Hail to-night, where appropriate addresses will be made by some of the most prominent colored men of the city. a Theft, an Escape, a Foot Race and a Barrel of Rosin Smashed. This forenoon a colored man stopped on North Water street to buy an orange ot one of the fruit dealers on the street, and while examining them the dealer saw him put one in his pocket. He anally bought one and when he paid for it the dealer told him there were two to pay for as he had seep the theft. The colored man, however, protested that the other orange had been bought at another place, and left. The circumstance wbf related to Mr. W. P. Oldham, who- ar- rested the thief at the store of Messrs. Patterson & Hicks. He, however, escaped and started toward Chestnut street at the top of his speed. The alarm was given and Mr. Stroud, who is in the employ of Mr. Oldham, ran out to intercept the fugitive, but in his haste he tripped and fell, striking bis bead violently against a barrel of rosin. Notwithstanding the fact that he received a severe contusion In his fall, he immediately arose and gave chase again, giving the alarm as he went along. The thief was captured some where in the vicinity of Second street and brought back, when the matter was compromised by the payment of one cent The damage to the barrel of rosin hss not yet been adjudicated.
