We regret to learn of the sudden and serious illness of Mr. Donald McRae, of this city. Mr. McRae was taken Thurs day night last with hemorrhage of the stomach and has since then been serious- ly and frequently similarly attacked. His physician- pronsunces his condition very critical, but entertains hopes of his ultimate recovery. He is thought to be better and is resting quiet to-day. Readings and Recitations. De?pite the inclement weather a good audience assembled at the Opera House on Saturday night to witness the per formance of the Oliver Doud Byron troupe in "Across the Continent." The play is a highly sensational one and was much enjoyed by the audience. 'The troupe is composed of a versatility of talent and each member sustained his role with satisfaction to the audience.
