The Alarm this Forenoon.
The alarm of fire this forenoon came
f.om a !m all frame dwelling occupied by
colored people. A hole about a ' foot
square was burned in the roof. The
flames were extinguished by the neigh
bors and passers-by before the engines
reached the scene. The damage was tri
fling. A similar alarm came from the
same house about a week ago.

Mr. J. P. d'Sttllivan, of this city, has
applied for a patent on plow and sower
which he has invented. The plow is very
simple and it is a wonder -that every
farmer has not thought of itZ. The new
invention is designed to do the work of
four plows and two additional hands,do
ing all the work at one time. It makes
the farrow, Opens it sprinkles guano,
sows seed. makei the bed and covers up
the seed at the same time. The plow
points used to make the bed are attached

O'SulliTaa has tested the plow and found
that it works to perfection. The cost
will be only a fraction dearer than the
plows new in use, . It may be a little too
