Superior Court
There was no business of importance
transacted before this tribunal to-day.
A few cases were called and continued,
and at 1 o'clock this afternoon the
Court adjourned until 10 o cioct a. m.
on Monday, the 12th inst.
Fire at Plkeville.
A letter received here today annotra
ces the loss, by fire, on Thursday, of the
cotton gin of Messrs. Baker & Gurley, at
Pikeville, in Wayne county. Six bales
of cotten were burned, which with the
gin house and machinery makes the loss
about $350, on which there was no insu
rance. Alcolored laborer was badly, and
perhaps, fatally burned.
