' The affair was under tho direction of A R. Black, Esq., Princi pal of tho Academy. By the way. that venerable teacher has established a pop ular and flourishing school here. A test vote was taken here on the liquor question a day or two ago, when only two votes were lound iu favor ot the sale of whiskey one was an old time negro and the other a pauper. We have several new' buildings in process of erection. In short the future prospects of the town are very gond.
