How ever, thousbhehad perhaps had- as strong convictions as any one, still he would heartily withdraw all opposition, and 'give the line now defined his tsanc tiom and expressed the hope that it would even be accorded a unanimous endorsement by the Convention. He was with the clergy and laity of N. C. in his sincere desire to build up th church, and he now yielded all of his own convictions to the will of the Con vention, and trusted the result desired " would bo reached by vote without dis- sent -The vote on tho resolution of the com - - mitee was called for. J. B.. Cheshire, dr.. offered ' a resolution pertaining to the steps to be taken by the deputies to the general convention relative to the consent of that body to the division of this Dio cese. The Hne.of division adopted by the convention is defined as follows: All . that portion of tho present Diocese of North Carolina including and lying Ea3t of the counties of Hertford, Dertie. Martin, Pitt. Greene, Wayne. Sampson. Cumberland and Robeson. Tho lino is different from the first proposed by Dr. Buei's ommittee in tho placing ol Cumberland and Robeson in the East icstead of tho Wast. The statistics of tht3 line differ from those already given in connection with the lino reported by tho -committee, in - bo far as the figures embraced in the counties of Cumberland and Robeson are taken from the West and added to tho East.
