Chureh, and as, by a rule of the Meth odist Church, he will be sent to some other charge, the following, as some ot the results of his labors, will be in tercsting to many of our readers, and especially so to the members of that church and those who have worshipped there: 1 When Mr. Ricaud ;took pastoral charge of the church, J four years ago, its membership numbered 227. Since, that time there have been added by conversions 147. The church has lost by withdrawals 87, by death 31 -total 118. After purging the books there now remains a membership of 293, a net gain of 66. During the term Mr. Ricaud has baptised 13 aduit3 and 47 infants total 60.' He has united in marriage 24 couples. The church has responded l berally to the necessary calls for moneyS as the following figures will show : In 1880 the sum ot $1,130.30 was raised ; $8,090.80 in 1881 ; $1,510:75 in 1882, and $1,190 60 in 1883, making an aggregate for the four years of $, 922.65. ' This is a good showing and must be gratifying to both pastor and people. ' There was a formidable docket for the Mayor's consideration ithis morn ing, and the following cases were dis posed of: i Patrick Dolan, a sailor, for disorderly conduct, was fined $5, in default of which ho was sent below for 20 days Dave Mallette, colored, an old offend er, was drunk and down, and was fined $5 or 30 days in the city prison. Mary Lee, white, an old offender, for being drunk and dbwn at the postoffice on Saturday night, was sent below for 10 days.- - "I, ' Fannie Benton, colored, an old of lender, for disorderly conduct, was fined $5. which she paid. Jacob Klein, a foreign tramp, who has been wandering about the citv lor several days, and on several occasions has been quite annoying to some of our citizens, was found asleep on Saturday night in a doorway and was takeu in by the police. He was discharged this mornirgiwith a warning to leave the city at once. ' Six other tramps, who applied at po lice headquarters on Saturday night for lodgings and were kept daring Sunda j were discharged upon condition that they also leave the city within 24 hours.
