The IKd-Fashloned Doctor; It "i9 very interesting, to read the writings of some of the doctors of the olden time, and see how modern science and recent discoveries have knocked to pieces many of their old These good men were eir best to relieve human Man- of them were work- the'dark. Almost all of them bondage to some inherited ! theory as to disease and its cure. It i3 that lhe of t1fccmcd.;f j a great deal of guess-work.- Still. j looked wise, and much of their I -v.a ;a As late as twenty-five years ago it was the practice of many of the be:t physicians to bleed their patients a great deal. Sometimes an enfeebled patient would be bled nearly to death m pursuance of this wild old custom. After a while the doctors 'found out that blood was iust what a sick (man needed, and that he . needed it I pure and rich. Modern science has rich red color, and that if there is not enough iron in the blood, the vital fluid is pale and thfn and poor. When this is the case, the whole system is enfeebled. ' The doctors and the chemists ex perimented and tinkered a great deal with various-forms of iron. Most of the early preparations of iron for the jblood did as much harm as good; i sometimes more. They hurt. 'the ! teeth, and injured the stomach, and (worked other mischiefs. But now j we have a preparation of iron in i which chemical science has made a majestic triumph, it is- crowns Iron Bitters." This carries the iron right to the spot where it is needed. It invigorates the stomach, enters into the circulation, enriches the blood, refreshes the liver, tones the nerves, and puts tne whole system in healthy condition, for -work. The triumphs this remedy has wrought are matter of public record through out the United States. Brown's Iron Bitters is sold by all the respectable druggists, and the people like it. 2 dec .8- mm tc d&w ctl FRESH ARRIVALS !
