A large white bird," supposed to be an eaele, was shot near the Pee Dee river last Monday by Mr. Marshall Li Ies. son of Mr. Eli Liles. The bird has some of tho "features" of a fish hawk and possibly is as much hawk as it Is eaele. It-was shot . with a rifle while flying, at about 100 yards distant, and measured 4 feet fi inches from tip tolip. The bird was first seen in the neighborhood in which it was shot, about twelve months ago.
