How does Milton Nobles manage to always bayc large audiences ?" anil has studied the tatna find tranta of the people and has iabored faithfully and : meat effectually tocatcr to those wants. He is a good actor and has surrounded himself with a company of very supc-; nor merit. He is the author of the plays which he presents and in the ar rangement of his plots be makes each character strong and prominent, iastead of having one or two leading persons and the rest simply to "fill in" with. Love and Law. which was presented last night, is equal, and in many re ppects superior, to any of Mr. Nobles former efforts. All tho characters in the piece were strong and they were impersonated by conscientious and pains-takiug actors. The play is attractive, the plot well laid arid the dialogue lively and inter esting, and we do not at ail wonder at the strong hold it has taken upon the theatre-going public. An unusually large audience was in attendance last night, the number being variously es timated at from 000 to 900. Mr. James F. Post, the architect of the building, informs us that it has a possible seating capacity of 1.250, and taking that number as the maximum, there must have been nearly or quite 900 persons present last night. At any rate it was a large as well a truly delighted au dience which manifested its apprecia tion of the play and the actors in fre quent bursts of applause. Mr. Nobler, may always be sure of a cordial re ception and hearty greeting whenever bo comes to Wilmington.
