Fine Entertainment. ' i H
A gentleman of this city who witness

tells us that they give a really delight

rather email one, it is true, but some
of the voices are very line indeed,
especially those of the sophrano and the
baritone. Our people may expect a
genuinely gojd entertainment to-night

There is a terrible disease prevailing
at Langworlhy, Jones County, Iowa,
which causes death in a few minutes.
The patient is taken with a slight sore
throat, the soreness then goes to the
lungs and from there to the spine, when
death follows. It entirely baffles the
physicians, some calling it a sort of
"ship" fever, caused by impure water.

A Joke.
We hear of a coap'e of gentlemen
who hired a horse and buggy lasSun
day with which they took a ride to the
Sound. While there, enjoying the
pleasures of the sea breeze, some wag
quietly changed the wheels, putting the
rear wheels on the forward axle and
vice versa. When ready to return the
gentlemen started for home, not notic
ing what had been done, but as there
was considerable laughter among the
bystanders, they became convinced that
something was the matter and after
driving a short distance they alighted
and thoroughly examined the buggy to
see what was amiss, but as they could
discover nothing out of the way, they
got into the buggy and drove home.
They did not find out what was the
matter until they reached the livery
stable when their attention was called
to tbe wheels.
