Some weeks ago wa published a proclamation about cows, equally as fierce as the one in your yesterday's paper referring to dogs. For a few days three of the city haods were engaged n impounding cows (ex pense about $50 per month) and the streets were kept pretty clear. But the fervor soon lagged and within the last six days the writer has counted in different portions of theeity. unattended and roaming at wiil, no less than 43 cows. It will probably be the same with the d ig law. A few citizens, de sirous of obeyiDg all law.s, will pro cure badges, but only a lew. and the f balance of them will be unmolested.
