C, v. Death of an Octogenarian. Old Aunt Dicey Walker, one of the very oldest inhabitants of this city, died yesterday afternoon, aged 86 years. Aunt Dicey was at one time a slave, tbe property of the Jate Mrs Sally T Cowan. She was inherited by Mrs. Cowan from her father. Goy. David Stone; and was brought to this city in the year i822 by the lady's husband, ihe late Robert H. Cowan, the elder. Vick. The Chairman of the Board reported tbe assessment of the C. C. It R. to be $4 536 per mile, of which 1 mile and 1?D yard is in New Hanovor. making total assessed value for taxation in this county $4,888.56. Also, W. C. & a: R. R at $0.0CO per mile, ot which 1 miles is in New Hanover.i Also, Wilmington Railway Bridge Crr, which consists of 2 iron bridges and 2 miles ot track, and as sessed on same at $60,000. of which New Ua iover taxes $59,139 and Brun swick $861. The Board then proceeded to assess the New Hanover Transit Company at tbe rate of $3,700 per mile and found 1 miles which, including the rolling stock, makes an assessable value of $6 475. .
