Whenever a person spits blooil a
feeling of great alarm is usually ex

itself in this ay the feeling is not
unnatural. Still, it does not always
iiecsarily involve great danger.

Is There a Future llfe For Animal.
We answer, John Wesley, the
founder of Methodism, though there
was. So did those eminent Chris
tian Bishops, Jeremy Taylor and
Hihop Butler. Coleridge advocated
it in England, Ixiuartine in France
and Agassiz in America. Agassiz,
the greatest scientist we ever had
the continent, and a man of pro
found religious convictions, was a
llrm believer in some future, life for
the lower animals. A professor of
Harvard University has complied a
lit of one hundred and eighty-live
European authors who have written
on the subject. Among the leading
clergy of Boston, who have publicly
expressed their belief in a future
life for animals, are Joseph Cook,
Trinitarian, and James Freeman
Clark. Unitarian. Some ten years
ago a man leftliy willtoMr. Burgh's
2sew York Society, about a hundred
and fifty thousand dollars. Rela
tives contested tin will on the
ground that he was insane because
he believed in a future life
for animals. The judge, in sus
taining the will, said he found
that more than half -the human race
believed the same thing.
