The National Convention is called earlier than usual in order that the party may be better organized, and a more tnorougn campaign made in behalf of its nominess' and its great principles. The several cotinty conven tions shall be entitled to elect to their Senatorial, Judicial and Con gressional Conventions, one delegate and one alternate for every fifty Democratic votes, and one delegate for fractious over twenty five Dem ocratic votes cast at the last pre ceeding gubernatorial election in their respective counties, and none" but delegates or alternates so elect ed shall be entitled to seats in said convention: Provided, That every countv shall have at least one vote in each of said conventions. 2. The chairman, or in hjs ab sceuce any member of the county, senatorial judicial and congressional committee, shall call to order their respective conventions, and hold the chairmanship thereof until the convention shall elect its chairman. 3. The executive: committee of the senatorial, congressional and judicial districts, respectively, shall at the call of their respective chair-' men, meet at some time and place in their respective districts, design ated in said call. And it shall, be their duty to appoint the time and p!acv for holding conventions in their respective districts; and the chairman of said respective commit tee thall .Immediately notifv tb chairmen of the dilTer.'nt c'oxv - sist of more than one ward or pre-led 'itn this address, giving full no- net? oi meetings' 111 njer uiut-reiu townships, so that vrimaries may be fairly held and fully attended. Thus the fairness of all nominations tand other business done mus be univer sally conceded. It is obviously im portant that every county shall be represented in the State Convention by one or more of its own citizens, but if for any reason one cannot at tend, provision has been made for the representation of the county by any person appointed by the chair man of the-eounty convention, or in case his failure to appoint, by one appointed bv its secretary. Fof purposes of efficient organization it is desirable that all vacancies-in the different committees be filled at once by active end zealous men. At the recent meeting of the State committee it was made my duty to .. ... . . . . , . call special attention or tne cnair men of county and Congressional executive committees to the necessi ty of immediate steps to provide for the election oi delegates to the jxa tional Convention from the different districts. If it shall seera impracti cable to call conventions to . meet in some of the districts for this pur pose, it is suggested "that the end may be effected by authorizing del egates to the State Convention from such districts to meet in Raleigh on or about the 30th of Mav in " district conventions and elect delegates to represent the districts at St. Louis iVe have reasons to know that our adversaries will make desperate efforts this yar to restore the State to Radical ruleiwith all its attend ant evils. Let rrue men and good democrats attend the conventions of our party, resolved to present for the suffrages of the people men of character, integrity and recognized Jitiiets for the oflicVa to which tney are nominated, and oniy sncn, iu the continued supremacy of the white race, which is synonymous in North Carolina with the supremacy of the Democratic party, will be as sured for another term of years.
