The rail road land grant forfeiture bill was taken up, the question being on Mr. Call's motion to reconsider the vote by which the bill was passed. .The bill was then reconsidered and the bill again brought befor the senate. The necessary amendment to pro tect preemption and homestead claimants was then offered by Mr. Spooner and agreed to. Mr. Call offered an amendment confirming the titles of purchasers of certain railroad laud in Florida adjacent to parts of railroad lines constructed within the time limited In the granting act. Mr. Plumb moved to amend the vmendment by addinga proviso thut a mortgage or pledge of land by any railroad companies should be con sidered as a sale. Mr. Call accepted the proviso. Mr. Call's Amendment was agreed to, and the bill passed.
