Some exceedingly interesting de
velopments are expected in Indiana.
There is no doubt, whatever, in the
mild of any honest man, that Har
rison was elected by fraud and
bribery and if the Democrats will
push their investigations they will
be able to prove it. The Chicago
Mail said on Monday tr
The Mail this afternoon prints the
following: Indianapolis, Ind., No
vember 2G. The startling develop
ments that are expected to follow
the indictment of bribers at the re
cent election will shake Indiana' to
its centre. Many of the names sent
in to the United States district at
torney for offenses against the State
are men, of prominence in the Re
publican" party, chairmen of county
committees, ex-Federal office-holders,
county officers of note and men
whose reputations have extended
beyond the State and who were
known in the past for theirintegrity
and uprightness. Over a thousand
complaints have been filed at the
office of United States District At
torney Sellers.

December "Weather.
We have received from the U. S.
Signal Office its weather chart for
Wilmington; showing the changes
in temperature, &c, to be expected
during the month of December, as
deduced from observations here
during that month for the past 17
years. We notice that it gets war
mer about the 5th, followed by
slightly cooler between the 7th and
10th, then warmer np to the 13th,
after 'which decidedly colder be
tween the 15th and 20th, and more
so between the 25th and 31st. The
maxjutu. temperature here during
December was 78 degrees -in 1879.
The minimum, 10 degress in 1880.
Clear and cloudy days occur 1 in 3,
and it rains 1 day in each 3, with
a daily rainfall of -12 of an inch. The
winds are generally from southwest
at the rate of about seven miles an
hour. The maxium velocity of wind
here dnringJJecember was 48 miles,
northwest, in 187G, . and greatest
daily rainfall 3.98 inches in 1877. The
changes tn temperature as prognos
ticated from these charts have been
found to hit close to the mark, and
the fact deserves consideration.
