JThe remains were brought here early this morning on a special train and conveyed to the residence of his son, Mr. P. L. Bridgers, corner bixth and Princess streets. The interment will be from St. James' Church, to morrow, at 12:30 p. m. Col. Bridgers was an exceptiona 1 man, and has for years past ranked as one of the niost prominent citi zens of North Carolina. He was born in Edgecombe county, Novem ber 28th, 1819, and was therefore (89 years of age. He graduated at Chapel Hill in 1841 in a large class, along with Judge Clarke, Gov. Ellis, Dr. R. B. Haywood, Montford Mc Gehee. Chief Justice Pearson, Judge Samuel F. Phillips, Hon. Thomas Ruffin, Judge Jesse G. Shepherd, Col. Robert Strange aud others whose names are household words in this State. It was one of the most illustrious classes in the history of the University. A week after leaving college Col.
