Interred at Oakdale.
The remains of the laxe Mr. Gustav i
Rosenthal were interred yesterday
afternoon in Oakdale Cemetery, in
the Hebrew enclosure. The services
were conducted by Rev. Dr. Men
delsohn. A large concourse of sor
rowing friends followed the remains
to the grave. The pallbearers were

his troupe at the Opera House on
next Monday.night. It is said to be
a fine thing, one of the very best on
the road, embracing a variety enter
tainment that is hard to beat. Mr.
Mills goes hence as far South as
Mexico. The troupe will go from
New Orleans to Vera Cruz and thence
to the principal Mexican cities.
Only a Slight Sensation.
' There was a small sensation at St
John's Church la&fe night. During
the services some of the Christmas 1
evergreens on the altar caught from
the gas jets beneath. Dr. Carmich
ael's attention was called to it and
he quietly turned off the' 'gas and
went on with the service. ; There was
not much of a flame and the Only
damage was the burning of a hole in
the sentence for the season, which
was stretched across the back of
the chancel and above the altar.

The work of paving North Front
street is progressing happily. The
work is'being well done and when
completed it will prove a very, great
convenience. The old cobble stones
are piled on the vacant lot formerly
the site of Front street church, as
fast as they are taken up, and will
fbe used in improving, other portions
of the city.
The Body Found.
The body of P. Toome, the fire
man who was drowned about a
month ago while stepping from the
wharf to his (steamship, was found
yesterday morning, floating in the
river, opposite Northrop's mill, by
two small boys, who put out in a
boat and brought it ashorer An in-
quest. was held and the body was
interred. '
