Harrell, who moved from Newton last summer to Winston to work on -; the Wilkesboro railroad as bridge and trestle builder, proved too much last Saturday evening for a gang of nesrro highwaymen. It was pay day .and Mr. Harrell was approaching his home with a considerable amount j of money on his person, what took place is thus described by a dis patch Saturday night from Winston to the daily papers: Mr Harrell, an employee on the Wilkesboro road, was coming to Winston this evening v "when he was approached by a body xf negroes and a demand made for his money or his life.
