Capt. A. L. PeRosset received a telegram yesterday afternoon an nouncing the sad news of the death of Mrs. .Tas. H. Low, Mrs. DeRosset's mother. The alarm of fire last night, about 7:30 o'clock, was a trifle. A slight hole was burned in the roof of a small frame building onCastle street, between Second and Third. Very little damage was done. City Court John Richandson. charged with disorderly conduct, was fined the costs $3.98, which was paid. Geo. McDonnell, for firing a pistol in the city limits, $5 or ID days. John Alexander, hogs running at large, case dismissed. Geo. McDonnell, caivying a con cealed weapon, $10 or 20 days. Prof. Bellezza Reunion Soiree. The soiree given by Prof Bel lezza hist night, complimentary ,to all of his former classes, was well at tended, notwithstanding the short notice. It was only during the day that the idea occurred td the Pro fessor and he proceeded at once to put it in execution. He could not tender the invitations in person, for the want of time, but the Review made the announcement when it appeared- in the afternoon and everybody read it. The consequence was a very pleasant party, largely attended and a happy reunion. All went merry as the marriage bells. Railroad Promotions. The Durham Plant learns that Mr. R. R. Bridgers has been ap pointed Superintendent of the North Carolina Division of the Richmond & Danville R. R., with headquarters at Durham. We heard this here some days ago but neglected to men tion it at the time. Mr. Bridgers is the son of the late Hon. R. R. Bridgers and brother to Mr. P. L. Bridgers of this city. He is a rising railroad man, having had many years of practical experience in the business. He has for some time past been Road Master of the Virginia Midland, a position in which he has been succeeded by Mr. Emmet Dunn, a young gentleman of much promise and experience, who has for some years past held a position in Capt. B. R. Dunn'soffice, A. C. Line, in this city. A Good Entertainment. Food things are ever welcome, and our amusement goers are await iiir the comingon next Tuesday evening of the famous Fowler & Warmington company, with their reconstructed version of that bright est and liveliest of modern come dies, "Skipped by the Light of the Moon,1' which is everywhere meet ing with the greatest success and attracting crowded audiences who laugh themselves into hysterics at the amusing absurdities of this ne plus ultra ot funny plays, which is thus spoken of by the ' Muscatine (la.,) Daily Journal: "The comedy of 'Skipped by the Light of the Moon,' was enjoyed by a large audience last evening, and it will be laughing over the wit and drolleries of the piece for weeks to come.
