Haussn & Smith have a valuable property near this city which they are rapidly proceeding to develop. It is located near the old station known as Register, nine milesfrom the city, on the W., C. & A. Railroad. It is now known, how ever, as Malmo, and a thriving town is in process of formation there. Where there was formerly but one tumble-down shanty at Register's there are now six neat cottages at Malmo built by Messrs. Hansen & Smith, who have a saw mill about a mile and a barf from the station, and who will build cottages for the men in their employ as fast as they are needed. In a short time, therefore, Malmo will become quite a thriving little town. Reference was made in these col umns some months ago to the fact that a bed of potter's clay had been found on this tract. Saiuples of this were sent to Europe and there test ed and found to be admirably adapt ed for the manufacture of pottery wane. This bed is located near Malmo and pottery works are to be erected there. The work has already j begun in fact, as the brick are now being made for the buildings. These brick are made and burnt from neds of clay on the land and the work of constructing the necessary buildings for the pottery will be rapidly push ed forward.
