POISONED WATER. one of ide leading surgeons in tne Army made tbo following characteristic remark: ' Water kills mere soldiers than bullets.-; Ills meaning was that soldiers who drank, impure water, died by disease in greater numbers than those killed by bullets. The surgeon was light. Impure water, especially at this sea son, is a terrible cause of sickness and death. Hut the public say, what shall we do? Ihere is but one sensible thing to do, and that is to purify the water by mixing with it -someiJilng that destroys all poison or disease-breeding germs, and nothing does this like pure wms fcev. But is may be asked, where can I obtain pure whiskey? Professor Henry A. Mott, saj s -the purity of Duffy's Pure Malt WMsfcej id absolute, and should commend It e nn cst public favor." There are hundreds of fam ilies that are drinking water const: antlj and are kept in perfect health bysimplj mixing a little of Duffy's Pure Malt Whiskey each B-lasi thev drink. It is a simple and sure pre ?S ve of Smer diseases and germ poisons, and is endorsed by the best people in the land: Josh. T. Jamks, Editor & Prop'r. Wilmington. N. C. FRIDAY JUNE 21. 1889. Ricn Hill, Mo, July 7, 1S8S The Swift Specific Co., Atlanta, Ga. Gentlemen : Our little girl when but three weeks old broke out with eczema. We tried the prescriptions from several good doctors, but without any special benefit. We tried S. S. S., and by the time one bottle was gone her head began to heal, and by the time she had taken six bottles she was completely cured. Now she has a full and heavy head of hair a robust, hearty child. I feel it but my duty to make tais statement. Respectfully, H. T. Shobe. Chattanooga, Tens., June 27, 1688 The Swift Specific Co., Atlanta, Ga. Gentlemen : Tl88i I contracted blood poison, and at once sought a physician, who treated me for sev eral months. By his advice I went to Crab Orchard Springs, Ky., where his course of treatment was carefully observed. I recov ered, as I thought, but the next spring pim ples began to appear on my face and Dody. These gradually increased to sores and run ning ulcers. I was advised to try S. S. S., and Immediately after taking it I commenced to Improve, slowly at first, but more rapidjy afterwards, and soon nothing remained to tell of my trouble. My blood is now thor oughly cleansed, and my system free from taint, and I owe my present condition a perfect euro to your medicine. Icheerfully give this statement that othera who have suffered as I have may reap the same benefit. Hardy M. Burt, 24 We3t Ninth Sc Homer, La., May 25, 1338 Tie Swift Specific Co., Atlanta, Ga. Gentlemen : About two years asp my general health gave way en tirely. I was so debilitated that I almost despaired of ever feeling well again. All that the physicians done for me brought no permanent relief. Friends insisted that I should give S. S. S. a fair trial, although I thought it would be throwing away money. After taking a thorough eourse, my health and strength returned, and I must say that 8. S. S. alone cured me, as I discarded all others while using it. As a tonic I can most heartily recommend it ; for general debility, it certainly is a specific. W. F. Bridges, J. P. Hosier, La. I know Mr. W. F. Bridges, and will say that his statement is correct.
