mind, boys; you were lucky to get

present ecclesiastical year to-mor
row and will leave for Conference
early next week. They have all
done a faithful year's work and
each of their respective charges
would rejoice if they were returned

learn of the death of Hon. W. T..
Dortch,ofGoldsboro,one of the fore
most, men of the State for a genera
tion past. He hud been sick for a
long, time and his death was not utr
expected. He has held a number of
offices of trust under the State and
was a member of the Confederate
Congress.

Combinaton which" was here last
Winter. They gave us a good show
and will be welcomed here again.
They play all of next week at the
Opera Hoirse and they have many
new and interesting features to
present this season. They will give
a number of valuable presents every
night.
Fair and Festival.
The ladies of St. Paul's Episcopal
Church will give a Festival and
Bazar in the City Hall on next
Tuesday and Wednesday evenings,
which the public are invited to pat
ronize. There will also be a mat
inee on Wednesday afternoon, es
pecially for the children. An excel
lent musical programme wiil be pre
sented. A donkey party, a Punch
and Judy show, Christmas presents
and delightful refreshments will also
