Death of Dr. Carr.
jjr. inomas . uarr, an old ana
highly esteemed resident of this city,
died at 9:30 o'clock last night, at
Clinton, where he had been lesiding
for some months past in the hope
of findinsr an improvement in his
health. For many years past he has
been practically an invalid, and al
most blind. The remains will be
brought here this evening and the
interment will take place to morrow
but nothing definite as to the hour
can be determined unon until the
arrival here of Dr. Caxr's son, Mr
Willie Carr, who is in charge of the
remains.
Dr. Carr was, we think, about 65
years of age and cairn to Wilming
ton about 35 years ago from Canan-
daigua, N. Y. He married the old
est daughter of the late Mr. Isaac
Northrop and practised dentistry
here for many years and by . close
attention to business amassed quite
a competence. Some years after the
war he embarked largely in pur
chase of real estate here and built a
number of substantial brick houses,
among others the present Seaman's
Home, which was built for the So
ciety, but a depreciation in values
ensued and Dr. Carr lost heavilv on
his investments. He has since been
ndecliningbealth and incapacittaed
for business.
Lung Troubles, Rheumatism, Etc.
Frequently a person issunposed
to have consumption when it is
some pother disease altogether that
is reducing his flesh and making him
look pale and thin. 1
J. W. Yates, Tullahoma, Tenn.,
writes: "It does me good to praise
Botanic Blood Balm. It cured me
of an abscess on the lungs and
asthma that troubled me two years
and that other remedies failed to
benefit."
So you see it is sometimes well to
trv constitutional treatment. No
remedy is so good as B. B. B. (Bo
tanic Blood Balm) for rebuilding
wasted tissue, and giving health to
e.very portion of the system reached
by that great circulating stream of
life, the human blood. Again, it is
often supposed that colds and expo
sure are the only causes of sciatica,
rheumatism, etc. Such is not aN
ways the case. It is frequently
caused by impurities In the blood. "
Win. Price, Luttsville, Mo., writes:
"1 was Afflicted with sciatica and
had lost the use of one arm and one
leg for nine years. 1 went to Hot
Springs and also tried different doc
tors, but found no cure until I tried
Botanic Blood Bahu. It made me
sound and welL I am well known
in this vicinity."
Observe, even when the renowned
Hot Springs failed, B. B. B. brought
relief. Remember, no matter what
blood remedy you have tried or in
tend to try, .. B, Is the only one
that will give you complete satisfac
tion. V ' '

There was a throng but not a crowd.
Everybody was delighted and in a

The gymnastic exercises by the

R. Turrentine, Jr.
The sword drill by the W. L. I.
was one of the most interesting fea
tures of the evening. Capt. Kenan
was the master of ceremonies in that
line. The drill took place in the
large space between tne compress
buildings and under the glare of the
electric light. It was a splendid ex
hibition and those who did not see
it missed one of the best things of
fered here in a long time.
The Art Gallery maintained its
stand as a point of great interest. It
