The last Legislature made an ap pro priatien for pensions amounting in the aggregate to Jabout $80,000, whieh has been collected. The bene ficiaries under the act are ex-Con- federate soldiers and the widows of such. For several years the amount paid out for pensions has been small, there being an appropriation of $30,000. Last year there , were 4,000 pensioners. Application blanks were sent out by Auditor Sanderhn on the first of last March and the law requires them to be filled up and returned not later than August 4th. It is now said that about one thstueand applications have not been returned, and as the Auditor has no authority to extend the time, it may work great hardship in many in stances. Official notice was given In this county to those" entitled to the pension to file their papers. -; WOTICE-;';:;: Reexs HErcBucax Executive coxMirrcs . : ' . i ( or Naw HaxoTEa CouxTTy ? - . -.' ..
