It seems to us that 5 o'clock, three quarters of an hour before sunrise, would be early enough. Later on in the sea: son, when the sun does'nt rise until 7 o'cock, 4 o'clock will be more than two hours before day. At the pres enltime we understand tnat some of the butchers are at the market house as early as two o'clock, pre paring for the dy's work. The .Sum Jone' Meetings. The Committee on Transportation for the Rev. Sam Jones' meetings, to commence m Wilmington on the 2oth inst., have made arrangements for reduced rate round trip tickets, from September 21th td October 6th, good to return until October 7th,- ou tho Wilmington and Weldon road as far up as Rocky Mount; on the Wilmington, Columbia and Augusta road to Florence, and on thp Caro lina Central to Charlotte. It is ex pected that similar arrangements will bo made with the Cape Fear & Ymlkin Vallev road, and an effort will be made, also, to have reduced rate tickets put on sale at Raleigh. A ltonsluc Kally Kxpected Capt. W. P. Oldham, chairman of the County Democratic Lxccutive Committee, "has received a letter from the State Executive Committee at Raleigh which states that every thing now indicates that the Club Convention to be held in Raleigh on trie 24th and 25th inst. is going, to be the grandest political rally ever held in North Carolina. The, committee has information to the effect that Charlotte, Winston, Durham, Ashe ville and other towns are going to bring large delegations, in addition to tho regular delegation, and march a procession with colors flying, bauds playing, &c. The committee suggests to Capt. Oldbam that an. effort be r made to lave the Democrats in Wilmington oln In this big demonstration. A arge delegation seems to tfe expect ed from this city. The remains of the late Mr. H. C. Prempert were laid j tenderly away to rest this afternoon beneath the quiet shades of that beautiful city of the dead, Oakdale Cemetery.
