A second dispatch came, requesting the aheriffto stay the execution to tbe last moment, tbat Gov. Holden had again been telegraphed to. The execu tion was to take place between ' the hours ot 12 and 1, and at half-past twelve tbe sheriff arrived and began to arrange for the hanging. The prisoners were led from the jail to tbe scaffold, tbe caps drawn over their heads, and the ropes adjusted.
