The Body of An Ikkant FotInd in a SiMK.-4bn Thursday night of last week, Toney Ashe, one of the city health officers, while fn the performance of his duty nacr the corner of 4th and Red Cross streets, discovered some thing in a box, which he had taken from a sink on the premises that resembled the dead body of an infant, and allusions were made by him self and companions at' the time as to their suspicions. The contents of the box was con veyed to a cart and carried to the usual place for depositing filth, on Smith's Creek, near the city, where it is afterwards taken away by a flat. Nothing more was thought of the matter until yesterday, when in removing the filth in to the flaV it was discovered that what had previously excited their suspicions was in re ality the corpse of an infant, but of what, color or sex they were" unable to discover.. Coroner Allen was immediately informed of the fact, and last night the body was. removed to the Station house, where an Inquest will be held at 9 o'clock this morning. . , -, - Beligiuos Notice. All interested please read the following ex tract from a letter from MrslEllen B, Mason, wile of Rev. Francis Mason, Tonnghoo, Bir mah. f: ' .. t.. , My son was taken violently Sick with Diptherla, cold chiUs, burning fever, and sore tunnt. a woniou one morning sen little ve-' sides la bis throat, very white, and his tongue towards the root, lust like a watermelon full of seeds ; the remainder coated as thick as a knife-blade. So many children- have died around here, I was afraid to call a phvsioian, and thought I would try yonr Pain Killer lor a gargle, with small doses inwardly. I did so, and found the gargle invaiiably cut offthe vesicles, and he raised them up, often cover ed with Dlood. He was taken on Sunday : on Wednesday his throat - was clear,-and his tongue rapidly clearing off. I also used it as a linament, with castor oil and hartshorn, for his neck. It seemed to me a wonderful cure, and I can bnt wish it could be known to the many poor mothers in our land who are los ing so many; children by this dreadful dis ease. . . , . : i ' . s I have found your' Pain Killer one of the most valuable medicines ever used in Bir mah. Once I was stung by a very large black scorpion : the pain was indescribable. . I im mediately applied the Pain Killer, lor I nev er travel without it) again and againind in a half an hour my foot was well. , ; . -.,v: i Dr. Walton writes from Coschocton "Your Pain Killer cures the new disease Diptheria, or Sore Throst that is so alarminglv preva-, lent here : and it has not been known to fail in any instance when used in time. This fact yon shouldmake known to the world." . (It is used in this disease as a gargle and lotion, as a tonic and stimulant.) - i . , -;- In Halifax, where this disease prevailed for many months in its most malignant form, the use of Perry Davis "Pain Killer'-was in. variably attended with the most favorable results, when it was used ere the disease had made too much progress to preclude the use Of so powerful a stimulant.
