Gardening for March.
As there is much attention paid to garden
ing in various parts of the city, we remind such
of our readers as have not already attended to
the matter, that during this month lettuce and
cabbage may be transplanted ; cabbage seed
may be sown in open borders ; peas, beets,
spring kale, carrots, lettuce; onions, parsley,
parsnips, radish, cpinacb, and, lierb seed, may
also be sown. Early potatoes may be planted
this month. Have your beds well spaded and
mannrnedi 8table manure is the best. A
good preparation will prevent the springing
up of weeds and grasses, and thereby save
much annoyance and' trouble in working the
growing CTop(durlng the summer.
