Our German citizens have perfected their arrangements for the grand peaee 'celebration and festival to take place on Monday and the programme for the occasion will be foflnd In another column. ' This will no doubt be one of the grandest displays witnessed in our city for a number of years. Our population is largely comprised of the German element, and while they love their adopted country with al most the affection that characterizes those "to the manor born,"- they still cherish an abiding interest In all that concerns the "Fatherland.' It Is natural thst they should do so, and It la also natural that they should rejoice and feel proud of the achievements of their friends. kindred and fellow-countrymen In the great struggle which has jost ended In the full and complete triumph of united Germany over the French nation. But while they rejoice ovtr victory, they also celebrate the retnrn of peace once more, which, will enable those of their friends and kindred who' have participated in' the strife, and survived the horrors of war, to return once again to the bosoms of their fam Uiea and "bask in the sunshine of peace.' !; We refer our readers to the programme for particulars as to the time the procession . wil form and its order of moving, and for all other Information which may be desired.
