Horse Bonnets. . These serviceable, articles, for. protecting horses' heads from the burning rays of the sun, are com ins: into, pretty general use in this city. The fire yes terday was in the 5tk. District, yet the Market bell, which is in the 6th District, first struck the alarm for the 3rd District and then rang the general alarm, .which should, only -fcave been done in the district in which the fire was located. In consequence of this blunder, no body knew in which district the fire was located, some being under the impression that it was on the opposite side of the river. Meeting: of (German Citlsens. Since that time be hak kept clear of tne'ctutche& of the law, and nothing had been heard to indicate his where abouts. . About a week ago, however, he made his appearance at or near Powhatan, Richmond county, where ho-was. engaged in the work of getting staves. This fact haying come; to; the know'edgeof -Mr.-; Renno,- he took a neighbor with him yesterday mornlng,;went to the place where he was at work, which was about a mile from Powhatan; and in the woods succeeded in capturing him, the prisoner making" no at tempt afr-resistance. Mr. "Rennp started iinme diately for this city, where he, arkved yester day afternoon and lodged the prisoner in' jail. -Cxendine states thatr after, escaping ; from Lumberton jail he made his way into South Carolina, where he worked, in the 'neighbor hood of Cheraw, until about ajweek or ten days ago, when he went to Richmond county, inteuding to work his way np towards Rock ingham; and thence Westward... He -is very positive in his assertions that hd has had no connection with Lowrey's gang, either before or since his escape from jail, and leclares that he has had no communication wit l any of the members so as to be posted as to their num bers or iutentions.
