of the 5th and 6th Light House District,' com
manded by Capt. T. B. DuBois, arrived at this
port yesterday. .The Dandelion left Baltimore
on the 1st Inst., and towed the Light ship Be
lief to Rattlesnake Shoals, off; Charleston.-
There the steamer was detained for several
days,' but had no communication with the city.
Leaving there she proceeded to the ruins of
Horse Shoe Light House near Smith Hie, for
the purpose-of removing the large iron piles,
which are of no use in their present position,
but may be made' of service elsewhere The
visit Of the steamer here is for the purpose of
procurlngBuitable tools to work with, as the re
moval of the piles is a matter, of some difficul
ty. Capt. D4 vis reports having seen no wrecks
on tbe cdast. :. He reports a .British barquen
