That clever, not to1 say 'masterly piece of brain-work, Fazio, was produced un der some embarrassments, as it Is a play far above the capacity of many of the men ' and women who have enviable reputations on the stage ; but without referring to the general cast of the piece, we must concede that Miss D'Este acquitted herself, handsomely in -the role of Bianca. Her conception of the charac ter was faithful to the text and she was nn usually spirited. At the close of the fourth act the enthusiasm and appreciation Of the au dience knew no bounds, and they ' demanded her presence before'the footlights in a very decided manner.! There waa no evading tbe summons and she Tesponded,1 presenting her thanks in i neat little speech, m ' ' Mr. Tannehlll 'Fazh was successful in one point at least : be gave the amplest satisfac tion Jto the playgoers present ; indeed,' the presentation as a whole was a decided success.
