The pamphlet opens with a statement M0n the Tiade ot Wilmington, Nor h Carolina, and of the Pro-luce exported from the River Cape Fe.r, the Season and Prospect taken into View; May 1st, 1815." This paper, prepare 1 by Joshua Potts,E$q., is a laithful and elatiorate account of com mercid operations up to the date of the same. It informs.us that in 1815 Wil mlngton, though a small p rt, afforded for export and imp;r.t neatly all the various' kinds of produce to be found in the giowth ot the United States; that there were regular packets plying between ' this place and New York ; thit ihe largest business was done with New York ; that the dep h ot the Main Bar of Cape Fear River at high water was eighteen tett t New lull t Bar, high water e'even and a half feet ;'and that navigation became more difficult by interference with the River current, on account of the opening at New Ialet. ; In Mr. Robert; W. Brown's " Remarks cn the Trade of Wilmington, N)rth Caio- lina, and on.-the Produce exportab'e from the CapeiFear River, taken into - - view 1st August. we have a glow ing account of tbe increased shipping and receiving facilities of the city. The Wil mingtOQ & Weldon R til road wa9 just com pleted and fcteamboat lines wtre in full operution not poly with F.iyettevilte,! but also with Charleston, New York'and other ports By these means a consMera " ble new trade was added to Wilmington and its prospects largely enhanced. We are also indebted to 'Mr. Brown's 6tate ment for the info;mitioo that the price of Ur was low in 4BT bat thit it was made in Tirj co,.idab-.e ,u .ititi, . Tbe crop ot turpentine was larger th it year than usual.' A large JumbeY trade was carried on and five steam 8iw mills and tr iAro water mills in the vicinity found constant employment.
